SONY TC-645

THREE MOTOR, THREE HEAD

STEREO TAPE DECK

You'll have top quality performance, elbow room and money left over when you add a SONY TC-645 to your audio system.

Two separate Ferrite and Ferrite playback and record heads, plus one ferrite erase head, assure long term high-quality performance.  They last up to 200 times longer than standard perrnalloy heads, and provide wider frequency response, better tape-to-head contact, and less distortion and noise.

The separate record and playback heads of the TC-645 mean you get the added advantage of Tape/Source Monitoring. You can check the quality of your recording as you make it.

One motor for the capstan and two separate motors for reel drive assure accurate, stable tape movement for reduced wow and flutter.  In addition, the 3-Motor System offers a simplified mechanism, which keeps mechanical wear to a minimum.

Exclusive SONY Symphase Recording lets you record 4-channel sound from any SQ* or FM matrix source. When played back through four speakers and an amplifier equipped with a 4-channel decoder, it'll give you all the exciting dimensional aspects of a live performance.

At end-of-tape in any mode, Automatic Total Mechanism Shut-Off returns all functions to the stop position.  Possible damage to tape is prevented, and there's less mechanism wear even when you leave the tape deck unattended.

The Record Equalization and Bias Selector Buttons let you get the best possible recording from either standard or low noise/high output tape.  And Built-In Mic/Line Mixing lets you mix and record through the line inputs and mic inputs simultaneously. For ease and accuracy in setting levels, there are Two Illuminated VU Meters calibrated to NAB standards.

Included here are just a few of the most impressive features. There are others, all adding up to make an outstanding value in the tape industry. The SONY TC-645-Long on looks and performance, short on size and price tag.
