The SONY TC-458 is a high-performance tape deck with an important plus: Programmable Foil-Activated Automatic Reverse.
Ferrite and Ferrite Heads assure prolonged head life through many years of quality sound reproduction. You'll enjoy wider frequency response and lower noise levels than you'd get with standard permalloy heads. The TC-458s dual function Roto Bi-Lateral Head Design gives you 3-Head Function in each direction for Bi-Directional Record/Playback and Tape/Source Monitoring. And Closed-Loop Dual Capstan Tape Drive, together with a Scrape Flutter Filter minimize wow and flutter and modulations distortion for excellent performance, whichever direction tape is moving.
A Servocontrol Motor electronically maintains accurate tape speed at all times. And Automatic Tape Lifters protect the tape and heads from wear during rewind d fast-forward.
Excessive tape and mechanism wear is prevented by Automatic Total Mechanism Shut-Off, which automatically returns all functions to the stop position at end-of-tape in all modes. With Symphase Recording, you can record from any 4-channel SQ* or FM matrix source and play back through four speakers and a 4-channel decoder-equipped amplifier without phase differences between channels.
There's also Built-In Mic/Line Mixing that enables you to record from two stereo sources at the same time, adding your own special fade-in/fade-out effects.
Thanks to these impressive features -plus many more -The Sony TC-458 you buy today will continue to deliver the same top-notch performance for years to come.
